INTRODUCING THE BLOOM

Est. April 2023

We are excited to introduce our new program, The Bloom—a networking community for women and genderqueer people in the seafood sector!

A series of virtual get-togethers designed to inspire, unite, and empower,  The Bloom is a brave, inclusive space to discuss the challenges we encounter in the course of our daily lives and solutions to these challenges. Members and invited experts will share their knowledge, insights, and stories with the community, and together we will empower and support each other throughout our career journeys.

With The Bloom, we aim to:

  • Enhance the visibility of women and genderqueer people working in the industry

  • Make jobs in the sector more accessible and desirable for this community

  • Increase our well-being through greater awareness of our contributions and stronger policies

  • Grow the number of women and genderqueer people hired and retained in the industry

Who is The Bloom for?

Women and genderqueer people play diverse roles in the seafood sector, yet the challenges we face are often universal despite the diversity in these roles. A networking group for women and genderqueer people in seafood will benefit all people regardless of the role they play in the supply chain—be they harvesters, processors, fisheries observers, or involved in sales and marketing. We aim to bring a range of diverse experiences and perspectives to the conversation to clearly identify linkages, leverages, issues, and solutions.

When and where to join:

Join us every third Wednesday of every month from 12pm-1pm Pacific Time.
